Situated at the end of the promenade in the quiet, residential seaside resort of Canico de Baixo, just 50 m from the Blue Flag Reis Magos Beach which has a breakwater, making swimming very safe. There are parrot fish, damsel fish and hundreds of others just below the surface of the water. Canico de Baixo is a beautiful coastal tourist zone with a Lido and three diving schools. It also has a number of 5 star hotels with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, spa, Jacuzzi, sauna and gymnasiums. There is also an excellent selection of local restaurants. The promenade is well lit, paved and beautifully landscaped. The village of Canico with a shopping center and supermarkets is about 2 km away. Funchal, the capital of Madeira is approximately 12 km and the airport is 13 Km. Car hire is not necessary, as a local bus runs hourly to Funchal and other locations on the eastern side of the island. The bus stop is about 50 m from the apartment. Golf is 7 Km away. Golfers will be pleased to know that the new Palheiro golf course is about 7km away. Classic Madeiran hills, ridges and deep valleys have all been incorporated into the terrain to produce a dramatically interesting course, with stunning views. The spectacular 27-hole Santo da Serra Golf Course, also known as Campo de Golfe part of the PGA European Tour, is also within easy reach, just 13 km away. This is Madeiras oldest golf course.
