Charming cottage located ten miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Rafael (Marin County), California. A safe and peaceful location very close to San Francisco but away from the congestion of the city. The cottage is on the grounds of a gated estate and has its own private entrance through French doors. The cottage is 350sf and was completely renovated in 2011. It is very comfortable with two large skylights, wood floors, many windows, large bathroom, nicely furnished, queen size bed and a full kitchen. Includes use of swimming pool and hot tub with magnificent 360 degree views of Ross Valley and 2000 foot Mount Tamalpais. Perfect for one or two persons. The property is on a hill overlooking San Francisco Bay and does require access by automobile. Private parking adjacent to cottage. No television. The cottage is located about fifteen minutes from San Francisco via the Golden Gate Bridge. It is just five minutes from the Golden Gate ferry system which takes you directly to the Ferry Building in downtown San Francisco. It is also five minutes from the Marin Airporter with direct bus service between San Rafael and the San Francisco airport (car rentals are available in San Rafael for lower rates than at the SF airport and it is much easier to rent a car there). It is just a few minutes from several malls with a variety of stores and restaurants. Marin County is a destination in its own right with the lovely towns of Sausalito and Mill Valley, excellent restaurants, Muir Woods National Monument, Mt. Tamalpais, the Frank Lloyd Wright Civic Center, Point Reyes National Seashore, rolling hills of West Marin, etc. Other worthwhile destinations include the Napa and Sonoma valleys and wine country (about 45 minutes), Russian River, (about one hour), the cute town of Mendocino on the coast (about 3 hours), Monterey (about 3 hours), Yosemite National Park (about 5 hours) and Lake Tahoe (about 3 hours).
