Lou Seren is a lovely family villa in Vence, just fifteen minutes into the mountains behind Nice airport. The rear terrace, garden and swimming pool overlook the medieval village of St Paul de Vence, which is just ten minutes away by car. The villa comprises four double en suite bedrooms and a small single; two living rooms, dining room, boules court and a large infinity swimming pool. There is ample outdoor living space, with an al fresco dining table that seats twelve people and a covered terrace off the living room with open views to the mountains. The Vence tennis club is at the end of the road, with ten excellent clay courts. Vence is a characterful working market town, complete with medieval square, numerous charming restaurants and gourmet food shops. The unique Matisse chapel can be seen from the town and of course visited. There is a daily food and flower market, with larger market on Tuesday and Friday. Nice Old Town also has a wonderful daily (Tue-Sun) flower market Cours Saleya and a superb antique market each Monday. St. Paul De Vence is within easy striking distance of both Nice and Cannes. It has long been a haven of the famous and is also well-known for the artists who have lived there, such as Marc Chagall who is buried in the village. It's home to the famous restaurant la Colombe d'Or and the superb Maeght Foundation art gallery. Cagnes Sur Mer is just 10 minutes away and has lots of restaurants which overlook the Mediterranean and a lovely long croissette to jog, cycle or blade along. The fortified medieval villages of Haut De Cagnes and Tourrettes Sur Loup are also a short drive away. Read less
