We love the country location...beautiful sunsets, views of rolling hills and thoroughbred horses in pastures, from every window. Our Historic Greek Revival home is on the National Register of Historic Places; The site of historic American civil war meeting, significant for the region. The home, built in 1830's, is clean and full of old world character with modern conveniences and tastefully decorated with antiques. Your family will feel totally "at home" cooking meals in, watching movies, playing basketball and jumping on the trampoline. When not enjoying the home, tour the infamous "Bourbon Trail" visiting the many distilleries; tour of famous horse farms (absolutely beautiful!!); a visit to Keeneland Race Track; the "Break Out Games" (Family fun for all ages); dining at lots of local farm to table restaurants and beer breweries; and side trips to Versailles, Midway, Frankfort, Richmond and Berea. People are very friendly everywhere. There is a lot to do in the area, but if you want to just stay home and relax, you will love the atmosphere and surroundings of this home. We enjoy 6 acres, and views from every window of the thoroughbred farms, to the horizon. Very private, walk to barns, pet horses, watch the Canadian geese migrate, many gardens. We have many friendly, outdoor barn cats; all animals live and eat outside & one dog named Roscoe, an Anatolian Shepherd who is to be for our chickens. Roscoe is currently in training. Read less
